Sorry to those who have been leaving messages on my answering machine. I've been having computer problems and have been running about like a mad thing. The computer virus/trojan/worm problems seem to be fixed now. I think I can make it to Monday night rehearsal but I might be there a little later than others as I'm supposed to be doing something else during the afternoon that might extend into evening. For people who can't make Monday we can hold another rehearsal on Tuesday night (at my place if no-one else wants to host it)? Or some other arrangement organised amongst those concerned? Cast list: There appears to be some confusion, can everyone please post who they are playing so we can sort out if any characters are missed? Two people can share a role but 3 or more will mean someone will have to play a different character. New people: Hi there! Please post to say if you can help at this coming performance (we need lots more people for trannies, torch pointing and shouting callbacks). Django. Most of this is directed to the people that it concerns but it IS for public consumption - I have had enough of the backstabbing and bullshit that I have seen going on for the past 6 years or so that I have either been involved in or on the outskirts of Rocky and I think that 6 hours solid on the phone last night has taken its toll on more than just one of us. Jess...no one wants you to leave, my understanding of our chat last night was as follows.... There were a couple of truths that needed to come out. We have talked through them and I tried to dispell you of the idea that people wanted you to leave as that is not the case. Loki, thankyou for the chat and *pat pat* I am so proud of you for having the balls to tell the truth! Jess, I really hope that your separate chats with Loki and myself and other cast members hasn't inspired the want to leave and that you know that what i told you (out of place that I was and I recognise that) and what Loki told you is going to have a positive effect. For the past 3 months or so now we have both been travelling over rocky ('scuse the pun) ground, some of it has been old gound and some of it has been rebuilding what was left of the shards of friendship from when I was pushed out of the cast 2 years ago. I have accepted your apologies and I think that you have accepted mine on the matters of the past. It is time to move on. A couple of pieces of advise for all the rocky cast, from someone who has been there - - don't ever leave rocky for any reason other than because YOU want/need to. - Don't let others drag you into their politics and - always confront the source (you did that last night Jess and hopefully it was better to get the information from the source and it ended up being a more positive experience than the ones that preceded it. Lou, thankyou for not posting to the list when you saw your friend hurting. Jess was right to stop you, while its frustrating to see someone you treasure getting hurt unecessarily, you DIDN'T know all the facts, all you have is your own view of what was going on. I really appreciate your self control!! Cate, you and I were originally painted as the "bad guys" in all of this, and the truth couldn't have been further away. I am really happy that I got the opportunity to have this sorted out, thankyou for your support. Just so that people in the cast are aware, the reason for me playing Janet this show is as a favour to a friend who will also be on stage. someone who wanted to see me return and who didn't realise that the role was filled. There was a level of misunderstanding because we all thought that the other had checked with Jess and when the phone calls started last night it became apparent that no one had consulted her. Django, lastly...no one hates you...we think that you embrace the character of Brad really well and that there are parts of the brad character that are just intrinsic to your nature, (the gormless dork qualities as discussed last night :>) but you do have some wonderful traits as a human being!! *suck suck suck* I am thrilled with the idea of having a cast meeting so that people can "see what [i'm] really like" you are all likely to be terribly let down, especially those expecting the rampant bitch they were promised. I spend enough of my time making plebs cry and grovel at my feet (occupational hazard I guess) I don't intend to do it in rocky, but I cannot abide backstabbing and have already been a part of a cast where it has run rife and ripped everyone apart I am not willing to take part in it again. So beware, those who bitch within my hearing and dont have the balls to take the consequences of your actions or lack courage of your convictions - these things come back to bite you in the end (threefold law - for those of you who are au fait with that) Looking forward to meeting all of the cast, having a great show and building the best rocky cast possible with the resources we have!! The size of my loungeroom lends itself > more to a meeting than a rehersal. > I believe there's anopther on Tuesday, but come to think of it I'm not sure > where. Rehearsals are fine, but as I said to Jess earlier on, I really think we should only have meetings when everybody is present - and the only way I know to do that is to have them on show nights, before the show. Which is why everyone should try to get there an hour earlier than usual - aim for 9pm, say - so we have enough time to have a proper meeting and still get ready. One thing to bear in mind is that we are doing an audience participation show. The common element of "We Will Rock You" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" was there was a way for the audience to participate. Probably the reason why "I Will Survive" didn't work so well despite the comedic idea's we had for it was because there was no a.p. idea for it. But keep coming up with those idea's!!! I am sure given enough notice people could make arrangements to be there and leave kids or demanding partners elsewhere?? We really need to get everyone together and start working on some stuff. I (as a member of one or two lists) have heard mixed reviews about the last performance....all were great, just that some focussed on some cast members and some focussed on others. Basically everything we did worked on Saturday. There were mixed reviews re the warm up...but that is something we are working on anyway. There were some comments made about the swapping of roles mid performance (and I might be a bit biased because it is one of those things that makes me uncomfortable, but I think it was done really well this time) there were some comments about brad and rocky not being the right body shape for their characters and this making it all somehow more real for the audience which was pretty cool as it was something i myself was a bit concerned about - being heffa janet and all (I do have a cute muscley boy who would like to come along and have a go at rocky...if thats okay...he would be closer to the real thing that Mr Drew, but probably nowhere near as accurate or as sweet 'neath the sheets hehe) anyway, its been a really really long week and it doesn't look like I am going to get out of work before 8 again tonight so I will sign off now and hope that someone else will pick up the slack of arranging the cast meeting. Just as background music behind pre-show talk/activity? If the song was to be actually "performed", we'd just be doubling up the movie. As for "Minnie The Moocher", "Fat Bottomed Girls" etc, I'd be happy to prepare something for one of these, but I don't think I'd have time to do them all. Can we decide on one particular song by:- - sorting out the "half-baked" ideas from the "dead cert" options as a finalised list. - then get a preferential vote (number the options in order of preference like the real elections). I like the idea of fat bottomed girls. I hope people are coming to my party on Sat night from 8pm 17/31 McIntyre St Burwood, Alice in Wonderland theme. Cath I am glad you are happier, it would be good to get together and Danni we still have to catch up for coffee. Jess __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo!
